WHAT ARE YOU GREAT FOR?: THE MUHAMMED ALI INSPIRATION

Erving Goffman in his Dramaturgical theory of society opined that, this life is a big theatrical stage and we are actors in it. Every actor plays his or her role and leaves the stage when done. So when dthis point of exit comes, does that signify the end of your role? In other words, do not let your role on stage affect just your performance on stage, but let it affect the whole 'plot of the play'.

This thought obviously seemed to be what the greats of this world, both the known and the unknown,  have used or applied. They have left indelible memories of their legacies on our minds not by way of any superhuman activities but what they could do best (abilities).

I refer to Muhammed Ali in my title because looking at the tributes all over social media on his death earlier today, got me thinking. Just hours after his death, Muhammed Ali was trending globally all over social media especially Facebook and Twitter. With all the trends, I have realised one word being associated with the legend  - GREATEST.
What made Ali referred to as G. O. A. T (Greatest Of All Time)? Just two things...... He said he was and he worked at being it. SIMPLE! Yes. His words and abilities are what made him an undisputable G. O. A. T. Like Ali, all other legends we know became greats because of the adroitness in their abilities. Every great must have a legacy, something to be remembered for. For instance
1. Muhammed Ali - Boxing
2. Kwame Nkrumah - Ghana, Africa Integration and Ghana National College, Cape Coast
3. Col. Muammar Gaddafi - Libya and Africa Integration
4. Rev. Isaac Opandoh - Bible teaching / The Second Coming
As you can see, these great men have passed on but people still remember or mention their names in one breadth or another because of their abilities. Not just possession of their abilities but they impacted the lives of people positively. That makes them greats.

My dear reader realise what is in you, work with it, impact another positively and tell yourself you are 'a great'. You don't need 100 people to be a GREAT; it could be just ONE person. In another vein, you could be a GREAT by being that lovely mom, caring dad, dependable sister, protective brother, nice boss, obedient subordinate, lovely husband, subservient wife, unconditional friend, industrious athlete.

"EVERY GREAT IS A GREAT AND EVERYONE CAN BE A GREAT...... EXCEPTIONAL EXCELLENCE makes you the GREATEST "
